About Online Ordering 

Thank you for supporting Mandela Grocery Cooperative. During the coronavirus pandemic, it is best for people to stay at home. That’s why our Co-op is now offering online ordering! Get organic produce and pantry essentials here.

Here’s how it’s done:

1. Click Shop in our site navigation menu. Here you’ll find fresh, pesticide-free produce, high-quality meats, hormone-free eggs and dairy, local bread, home pantry essentials, and wellness products.

2. Before you pay, choose between same-day delivery OR in-store pick up.

   1. Same Day Delivery: Place your order by 11am for same day delivery Monday-Friday. Please note that our current delivery area is limited - please refer to zip code table below. Per CDC protocols, your order will be a “no-contact” delivery.

   2. In-Store Pick Up: Orders placed by 2pm will be ready for pick up usually within 2 hours the same day. Orders placed after 2pm will be available for pick up the following business day. Please pick up groceries between 11am - 6pm Monday-Saturday at Mandela Grocery Coop (address below). We are closed on Sundays.

3. Once you place your order, you will receive a confirmation email. When your order is ready to be picked up you will receive another email.

4. Once items are delivered or picked up, promptly place perishable items in refrigeration.

Orders placed over the weekend will be delivered on Monday. Online orders placed after 11am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be delivered on Monday. Orders placed by 11am Monday-Friday will deliver same day. Orders placed after 11am Monday-Thursday will be delivered the next day. After placing your order, a confirmation email will be sent to you. For efficiency, please make sure you enter the correct email address and phone number.

For deliveries, Mandela Grocery Co-op has partnered with Piikup -  a social enterprise. Their vision is to strengthen communities by supporting the rebirth of not just commerce but ensuring that predominantly black communities are able to build wealth and legacy for generations to come, uplift and empower people as a positive influence, and to be remembered as the people who made you feel you could achieve. 

Their mission is to support emerging businesses, but more intentionally, Piikup supports those hyper local  businesses owned by people of color and women of all cultures, those marginalized groups who would otherwise face challenges as they try to enter and establish themselves in the market and towards becoming a legacy business.

Order for In-Store Pick Up

Orders placed by 2pm will be available for pick up usually within two hours the same day. All orders can be picked up at Mandela Grocery Cooperative located at 1430 7th Street, Oakland, CA 94607. The Co-op is closed on Sunday. Orders placed on Sunday will be available for pick up on Monday after 11 am. Orders may be picked up between 11am-6pm, Monday-Saturday.
